Carol Kohl Obituary, Death Cause – The passing of Carol Sue “Susie” Kohl, at the age of 81, has left a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and a spirit of adventure that inspired all who crossed her path. A Life of Love and Family

Susie was born on June 11, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, to Thomas and Katharine Davis. Raised in Geneva, New York, and Glendale, California, she grew up surrounded by love and the values of family. In 1961, she graduated from Glendale High School, setting the stage for a life filled with endless possibilities. In her journey through life, Susie was blessed with two marriages. Her first union was with James Nail Sims, with whom she shared the joy of raising four children: Sindy, Katharine, Robin, and Marshall. Their family bond was a source of strength and happiness, laying the foundation for a lifetime of cherished memories.

A Passion for Adventure and Creativity

Throughout her life, Susie had a deep passion for adventure and creativity. She found joy in exploring new places, meeting new people, and embracing all that life had to offer. Traveling was not just a hobby for Susie—it was a way of life. From the bustling streets of Honolulu to the serene landscapes of Red Oak, Iowa, she reveled in the beauty and diversity of the world around her.

In addition to her love for travel, Susie had a special fondness for horses. Their grace, beauty, and spirit captivated her heart, and she found solace and joy in their presence. Whether riding through open fields or simply spending time in their company, Susie found a sense of peace and connection in the presence of these majestic creatures.

A Heart of Service and Creativity

While residing in Red Oak, Susie found fulfillment in serving her community and pursuing her creative passions. As a seamstress, she shared her talent and skill with others, bringing joy and beauty into the lives of those around her. She also worked for Finest Cleaners and lent her support to Carrol Danbom with his art shows, leaving an indelible mark on the local arts scene.

After the passing of James, Susie found love again and was united in marriage to Philip Kohl on November 1, 2005, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Together, they embarked on new adventures, creating a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love and the joy of finding companionship in life’s journey.
