22-year-old Siris Catching killed after alleged ‘dispute over woman’ in Jackson
A man has been apprehended following a fatal shooting in Jackson, occurring in the 1700 block of Barrett Avenue.
Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade reported that officers were dispatched around 2:30 p.m.
Monday after receiving reports of a man shot and killed. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Siris Catching deceased.
The alleged perpetrator, 22-year-old Joshua Taylor, barricaded himself in a nearby residence, where officers subsequently arrested him.
Investigations revealed a prior acquaintance between Catching and Taylor. While Chief Wade stated he is unaware of the specifics of their relationship, he suspects it may have involved a dispute over a woman.
