Despite not attending, Matthew earned a full scholarship to Louisiana Tech University, reflecting his intellectual prowess. Beyond the academic realm, he was a natural outdoorsman from an early age. Whether it was fishing, hunting, or shooting clays with his father, Matthew found solace in the beauty of nature. The golf range became a cherished space for bonding with his father, creating lasting memories.

As a young adult, Matthew’s adventurous spirit led him to explore the vast landscapes of Utah, where he hiked and faced the challenges of a winter season. His connection with nature extended to Maine, where he dedicated his time to volunteering at a refuge for wolves. This act of kindness was a reflection of his profound love for animals, including his cherished companions, Noodle the cat and Velvet the dog.

The last several years of Matthew’s life were spent in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas. Here, he found fulfillment working as a photographer, with his images gracing the pages of Austin Woman Magazine.
