A male juvenile is being held by the Grand Forks Police Department for his suspected involvement in a murder that occurred early on Thursday morning.
On March 7, just after three in the morning, police were called to a disturbance in the 1700 block of 36th Ave. S. The male victim was allegedly found laying on the ground with an upper torso stab wound when the police arrived. Anfernee Economy, 24, was the victim’s name, and he was declared dead at the spot.
According to Grand Forks Police, Economy was stabbed during a violent altercation between two groups of persons that started following an argument.
The suspect is a Grand Forks resident who is 17 years old, but because he is still a minor, authorities are not releasing his identity just yet. The accused is being held under arrest and faces a charge of AA Felony Murder, which carries a maximum life sentence without the possibility of release.
