Aanya Vinay, a resident of Brookline who was 25 years old, was shot and murdered by Keith Ashby, a registered sexual offender from Boston, according to the results of their investigation. After the execution, Ashby committed himself. As opposed to Ashby’s death, which was ruled to be a suicide by the office of the chief medical examiner, Vinay’s death was decided to be the result of a murder.
