Karel Mangual has been charged in connection with the double homicide that occurred in Worcester, while the second suspect is still at large. The sad deaths of Chasity Nunez, who was 27 years old, and her daughter Zella Nunez, who was 11 years old, have left the city of Worcester, Massachusetts, in a state of continuous shock and grief.

On the other hand, the investigation has made a significant step forward with the arrest of Karel Mangual, a resident of Worcester who is 28 years old and is considered to be one of the two men engaged in the horrible crime.

It was on Wednesday night that Mangual was taken into custody, and he is scheduled to be charged with armed assault with the intent to kill as well as illegally possessing a handgun. His planned appearance in Worcester Central District Court is set on Thursday, and it is anticipated that further information about the case will be disclosed at that time.

While this is going on, the police are stepping up their search for the second suspect, who has been identified as Dejan Belnavis, who is also from Worcester and is 27 years old. The fact that Belnavis is still at large despite the fact that detectives have described him as “armed and dangerous” has prompted urgent requests for information from the general public.

During the horrific event, which took place on Tuesday afternoon on Englewood Avenue, Chasity and Zella Nunez were attacked as they were seated inside a parked SUV. There were two people who approached the truck and opened fire before leaving the area in a white sedan, as seen on security tape.

A witness provided essential information regarding the suspects and their getaway car, which was included in the court papers that were made public on Thursday. These data shed light on the sequence of events that took place. By doing more research, the police were able to find a 2021 Acura TLX in Hartford, Connecticut. The vehicle was registered to a person who was connected to Belnavis.

Additionally, Belnavis was found near the location of the shooting, as shown by the fact that his automobile was apparently spotted “circling the area” before to the assault. This information was gleaned from phone records and security video. However, detectives have not yet determined a motive for the killings, leaving the community bewildered and mourning for the loss of Chasity and Zella Nunez as they continue their search for answers.

The lives of Chasity Nunez, a participant in the Army Reserves, and Zella Nunez, a student in the fifth grade, were sadly cut short by needless violence. Chasity Nunez leaves behind another daughter, and Zella Nunez was a student. Residents of Worcester are being encouraged to be watchful and disclose any information that may lead to the detention of Dejan Belnavis as the city continues to struggle with the consequences of this horrific occurrence.

The Worcester Police Department may be contacted at the following number: 508-799-8651. Those who choose to give tips will be afforded the opportunity to remain anonymous. The community is united in its pursuit of justice for Chasity and Zella Nunez, whose memories will be indelibly imprinted in the hearts of all who knew and loved them. The inquiry is now underway.

The item that was first published on Channel3 NOW and titled “28-year-old Karel Mangual arrested and charged for the murder of Chasity Nunez and her daughter Zella Nunez in Worcester neighborhood” reflected the collective sadness of the city as well as the commitment to pursue justice for the victims of this horrific crime.
