Nick Sheridan Death: After a “short illness,” Nick Sheridan passed away at the age of 32. “One of those rare people who light up the lives of everyone around them,” the broadcaster said in a social media statement announcing his death on Thursday, March 7.

He is a native of Wexford, Ireland. Before coming to BBC Scotland in 2018, he worked for STV and RTE in Dublin, where he presented series like the flagship news program Reporting Scotland and the series Nine and Seven Days.

After attending St. Peter’s College in Wexford, Nick Sheridan completed his journalism studies at Dublin City University in 2013.

Before relocating to Glasgow in 2017 to assume a position with STV, he spent three years working as a correspondent for the Irish public service broadcaster RTE.

He spent a year with STV and developed into a very well-liked employee. His calming Irish lilt combined with his youthful charm made him a captivating presence in the newsroom.

Following his time at Wexford’s St. Peter’s College, Nick Sheridan graduated from Dublin City University’s journalism program in 2013.

He worked as a journalist for the Irish public service broadcaster RTE for three years prior to moving to Glasgow in 2017 to take up a role with STV.

After a year at STV, he became a highly regarded worker. He was a compelling presence in the newsroom with his youthful charm and soothing Irish lilt.

The sudden loss of Mr. Sheridan at time when his career seemed poised for greatness has intensified the sense of the terrible and caused excruciating grief for his numerous colleagues.

This talented individual was remarkably grounded and, characteristically of the Irish, completely unfazed by the accolades bestowed upon him.
