Stanley Dixon Obituary, Death – After a brief battle with sickness, Mr. Stanley Raymond Dixon, age 52, of Blackshear, Georgia, passed away at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross on Saturday morning, July 29, 23. On November 13, 1970, he was born in Blackshear. His parents, Sammy Dixon and Nancy Bowen Dixon, were his parents. His entire life was spent in Pierce County, and he graduated from Pierce County High School in 1988.
He was a very local resident. Troy University, located in Troy, Alabama, was his alma mater, and he participated in the marching band. He had retired from his positions as a district manager and manager of convenience stores, and he was a member of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to his parents, his grandparents, Tom and Miram Dixon, as well as Jack and Mae Bowen, passed away before him.
His three siblings, Chris Dixon (wife Denise) of Pearson, Traci Hardy (husband Chris) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Kandi Turner (husband Reese) of Blackshear, are among the people who survived him. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Bowen Dixon, Lilah Dixon, Kara Hardy, Will Hardy, Caleb Lairsey, Jayk Graham (wife Allie), Ganon Graham (fiancé Amber Cason), and Rahli Turner; four great nieces; several aunts and uncles; and a large number of cousins and other relatives.
On Monday evening, July 31st, at seven o’clock, there will be a memorial ceremony held in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Shiloh Cemetery will be the location of a private burial of the deceased. In Branson, on October 30, 1955, Stanley made his marriage to Barbara E. Scruggs official. During the month of October, they had celebrated sixty-five years of being together. The arrival of three kids was a blessing for Stanley and Barbara.
For the most of his life, he delighted in residing in Kirbyville. Following his retirement from College of the Ozarks, he relocated to Alpena, where he remained until he eventually settled in Springfield. Hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family were all activities that Stanley enjoyed doing. His parents, five brothers, Glen, Leon, Carl, Don, and Alvin, and one sister, Opal Baughman, all passed away before him. He was the second of seven children.
Stanley is survived by his devoted wife Barbara Dixon, who resides in the same house; three sons and their spouses, Micheal Dixon (Angie) of Alpena, Arkansas; Phillip Dixon (Thecia) of Battlefield, Missouri; and Jeffery Dixon (Patty) of Polo, Missouri; two brothers, Bob Dixon and Chester Dixon (Ardyth), both of Kirbyville; a sister, Bonnie Cooper, of South Haven, Mississippi; four grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and a total of eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
