TM Stevens Death: New York City-based American bass guitarist Thomas Michael “T. M.” Stevens, 73, passed away. Stevens performed and toured with many pop, R&B, and rock bands as a session musician.

In addition, he gave solo performances. The musician and friend of Stevens, Ronny Drayton, revealed on his Facebook page on September 16, 2017, that Stevens was supposedly living in a nursing facility due to severe dementia. Stevens died away on March 10, 2024.

Yoshiaki Masuo, James Brown, Nona Hendryx, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Little Steven, Tina Turner, Narada Michael Walden, Taylor Dayne, Stevie Salas, and Billy Joel are just a few of the many performers with whom Stevens has worked on records and tours.

Stevens, better known by his stage as Shaka Zulu, started out as a bassist and later recorded an album of the same name in 1981 while playing with the band Space Cadets. He recorded the album Get Close with the Pretenders in 1986. He was a member of the band from 1986 till 1987.

He started playing with the band Vai in 1993, which was founded by Steve Vai to record and promote his third studio album, Sex & Religion. In addition, Devin Townsend contributed to the group as a singer and Terry Bozzio performed drums.

In 1995, Stevens began recording his own songs with the backing group Out of Control. During this time, he went on to record two albums: Boom (1995) and Sticky Wicked (1996). In 1997, he produced and orchestrated Black Night – Deep Purple Tribute According to New York, an album that included his efforts on seven of the eleven songs.

In 2000, Stevens released the album International Telephone with the band Illegal Aliens, which was fronted by German percussionist Marco Minnemann. Along with the Boombasstics, he released Boomparty 2000 in the same year, and he published Brothers in Arms in 2008 with Temple of Soul. These two albums came released in the same year.
