Robert Brennan Obituary, Death, – We wish to convey our deepest condolences to the Salesian College Chadstone community on the passing of Mr. Robert Brennan, our esteemed former Principal, who passed away on Saturday, March 9th, following a brief bout with illness.
During his tenure as the first Lay Principal of Salesian College Chadstone, which lasted from 2012 until 2020, Rob established a reputation among students, staff, parents, and former students for his compassion, humour, and perseverance as an educator and leader.
Our prayers are with his family, as well as his many friends, both current and former pupils, during this difficult time. Robert, may you rest in peace. Robert J. and Alyson Brennan, Jr. are the parents of six children, and Bobby is the second of their children.
During his childhood, he was brought up in a house on Fern Street in Fairfield that was brimming with love, children, friends, family, mayhem, music, celebrating holidays, parties, and laughing. A philosophical “discussion” with Bob is typically more of a meandering foray through intellectual ideas than a direct path to a conclusion.
He was a thoughtful product of Fairfield Prep, Class of 1989, where he took home the Theology medal upon graduation. This is a surprise to no one who has ever engaged in a philosophical “discussion” with Bob. His fervent argument skills are unparalleled and will never be duplicated.
It was during his time at Prep that he formed significant relationships that would endure for the rest of his life and serve as a significant wellspring of strength throughout his entire existence. In 1993, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Fairfield University. Subsequently, he resumed his studies at Fairfield University to get degrees in Social Studies and Secondary Education.
