Mable Bernice Obituary, Death – The death of Mable Bernice Branch occurred on February 22, 2024. Her children, Nell Starks, Hilda V. Joe, Cecil Carter (Poksun), Sumather Carter, Jewel Lynn Barry, and Gerry P. Carter, as well as nine grandchildren, a large number of great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, are among those who are left behind after her passing.

Mrs. Mable was known as “Miss Preacher” because she was a preacher’s wife for a number of years. She went to jails, visited sick people, and took a number of church members to see their doctors. She was a teacher at a Sunday school who devoted her entire being to the ministry she was involved in.

Not only did she participate in the Homemakers Club of Pitt County, but she was also a member of the Maggie Little Circle. By her love and ministry, she had an impact on the lives of a great number of individuals.

She was an artist in many different ways, including crafting jewelry, tending to her rose garden, baking and decorating cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and other celebrations, and cooking soulful southern cuisine. She never failed to be there for us whenever we required her assistance. The most important thing in her life was her family, and she was also very devoted to her Catholic faith.

In addition to the fact that she never encountered a stranger, she demonstrated to us via her actions that prayer is a powerful tool, that forgiveness ought to be extended without delay, and that love, compassion, kindness, and laughter are best shared with other people. Audie and Carl Thomas, her sister Gladys Matuzek, her brothers Daniel and Carl Jr., and her infant son David all passed away before she did.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, Lumas B. Lee and Cora Ellen Massengill Lee, she was also predeceased by her devoted husband, Reverend David Hill, as well as her brothers, Rayford Lee and Lloyd Lee.

The funeral home has informed us that the following services have been planned for the specified time: On March 13, 2024, visitation will begin at one o’clock and continue until four o’clock at the Woods-Valentine Chapel, which is located at 1455 N.
