Danny Bessine Obituary, Death – The Great River Klein Center in West Burlington was the location where Clair Rose Bessine, who was 92 years old and from Burlington, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

Her parents, Clyde and Nellie Hartman Springsteen, gave birth to her on February 16, 1928 in Burlington. She was their beloved daughter. In the city of Burlington, Iowa, on October 27, 1951, she tied the knot with Robert E. Bessine. After that, on September 7, 2016, he passed away.

She had a lot of aptitude as a seamstress, and she sewed all of the clothes for her children, even Barbie costumes that matched her daughter’s dolls. In addition, during her lifetime, she crocheted thousands of baby caps, which were then distributed to children in need all around the world.

Clair cherished her family and took great pride in being a homemaker. Additionally, she had a strong interest in making and decorating cakes, and she served as the proprietor and operator of Clair’s Cakes in Mediapolis from 1968 until 1992. “Clair was a die-hard fan of the Cubs.” Over the course of many years, she was a member of Burlington Baptist Church, which she cherished as her church family.

Surviving members of the family include two sons, Danny Debbie Bessine and David Kath Bessine, both of Burlington; one daughter, Barbara Chris Gray of Donnellson; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, three brothers, two sisters, and one great-great granddaughter all passed away before her. She then followed in their footsteps.

It has been decided that Prugh Crematory will be in charge of the cremation process. On Sunday, July 12, 2020, at three o’clock in the afternoon, the Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home will be the location of the Celebration of Life for Mrs. Bessine. Pastor Kendall Adams will preside over the ceremony.

The Great River Hospice House and Klein’s Center have both been designated as the recipients of memorial contributions in place of actual flowers. The arrangements are being handled by Prugh Funeral Service at this time. The obituary for Clair can be seen here, where one can also send condolences to the family and view a pictorial homage to the deceased.
