There has been a report of a gunshot at the Jack in the Box restaurant in Ellensburg on Friday, and many law enforcement agencies are investigating. Two people have reportedly died as a result of an active shooter event at the restaurant at 115 W University Way in Ellensburg, Washington.
Officers from the Ellensburg Police Department, Ellensburg Fire Department, and Ellensburg Ambulance were sent to the University Way in response to a report of a gunshot, according to law enforcement sources. Reports state that when police arrived on the area, they were greeted with gunshots.
The suspect left the site and went in an unidentified direction. Following the incident, the Central Washington University campus has been put under urgent lockdown. The Morgan High and Middle schools are both on lockdown as the incident is being investigated by law authorities, according to Ellensburg police.
Officers on the scene discovered one person who had been shot many times. At the scene, the unnamed person was declared deceased. An continuing murder investigation is stated by the police. The investigative department withheld the identification of the suspect.
