Patty Schaper Obituary, Death – Thank you for praying for our family. The passing of my sister, Patty Schaper, occurred last night. I really dislike having to put this on, but I have no idea how to get in touch with my family. At the St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown, funeral services will be place on Tuesday at eleven o’clock in the morning. Father Savio Yerasani will preside over the ceremony. Memorial services will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery for the deceased.

From ten in the morning until the start of the service, both family and friends are welcome to congregate at the church. The family is being cared for by the Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service, which is located in Watertown. She was the daughter of Earl and Catherine (née Wuestenberg) Draeger, and she was born on October 14, 1945 in Watertown. Patricia Ann Draeger was named after her mother.

With a high school diploma from Watertown, she was a graduate. The ceremony took place at St. Bernard Catholic Church on February 13, 1964, and she wed Herbert Schaper. Pat’s previous places of employment included Eastside Bakery in Watertown, Village Blacksmith in Watertown, and Hartwig Poultry in Johnson Creek. All of these stores were located in Watertown. Additionally, she worked as a babysitter for more than four decades.

During her time at St. Bernard Catholic Church, she was a member. Puzzles, collecting trinkets, and listening to country western music were all activities that Pat enjoyed doing. The baked beans that she made were exceptionally well-liked by her family, and she enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and preparing food for holiday celebrations. During the holiday season, Pat’s favorite thing to do was to adorn the house with new decorations.

She was a fan of the television show “Days of Our Lives.” Pat is survived by her husband, Herbert, who resides in Watertown; her daughter, Jennifer Robert Gensch; her grandchildren, Karissa, Tiffany, Shawna, Ryan, Tyler, Zackary, Crystal, Jonathan, and Cassandra; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Ebert, Marie Draeger, and Judy Steve Conlan; her sister-in-law, Joyce Marvin Frey; and a number of uncles, aunts, and other relatives and friends.

Her two sons, Donald and Danny Schaper, as well as her brother, Dave Draeger, and her brother-in-law, Bruce Ebert, passed away before she did. In the twenty-five years that Patti had worked at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin, she had held the position of registered nurse. Christian was the faith that she adhered to. She was the daughter of Marion Ivan Harrison and Betty Lou (Hilyard) Harrison, and she was born on August 18, 1955 in Hillsboro, Illinois.

One daughter, Christina Schaper, resides in Pinckneyville; one son, John Schaper, resides in Makanda; and one sister, Constance Harrison, resides in Pinckneyville. She is survived by all of these individuals. Her parents and one brother, Richard Harrison, passed away before she did. She was survived by one brother. The cremation ceremonies were carried out in accordance with Patti’s request.
