Pete Pallotta Obituary, Death – Peter A. “Doc” Pallotta, age 88, of Palisades Park, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013. He was the devoted husband of Geraldine “Marian” Pallotta, who passed away. Dedicated and cherished father to Louise Hoar, Nicholas and Dale Pallotta, Geraldine and Tim Giusto, and Anne Pallotta. He is the cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren collectively.
Loved and cherished brother of Mary Ostuni and Valerie Campanella, who passed away. With the Flying Tigers, Mr. Pallotta served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945. He was a veteran of the military. As a member of the 529th Fighter Squadron, he participated in the conflict that took place in the China-Burma-India Theater.
We will never forget Doc for his coaching and engagement with Palisades Park Baseball. His legacy will live on forever. Funeral services will be held on Monday at nine o’clock in the morning at the Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, which is located at 1601 Palisade Avenue in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. George Washington Memorial Park will be the location of the interment. Paige, Vanessa, Nicky, Christopher, and Priscilla, Brian’s wife, are all members of the family. Following his graduation from high school, he went on to earn his pilot’s license and subsequently served his nation for a total of eight years in the Army and National Guard.
He served as a volunteer firefighter for twenty years and was also a member of the Exempt Association, the Board of Education and the Borough Council, a Freeholder Director, and he ultimately served as Mayor of Palisades Park for two terms.
He was a devoted community leader in Palisades Park. It was a privilege for him to be appointed by President Reagan to the position of liaison to tiny communities located all throughout the United States. Two separate instances, he was present at meetings with the President that took place in Washington.
Additionally, I had the opportunity of meeting former Presidents Ford and Bush Sr., both of whom served as presidents. Bob’s Sports-O-rama was a sporting goods store that he opened and managed for a period of twenty-four years.
For the purpose of managing sales for Giant’s Stadium, the Arena, and the Racetrack, the New Jersey Sports Authority was hired. Upon his departure from the company, he was offered a position as the manager of Orchard Hills Golf Course. Everyone who knew him, including his friends, his family, and their pets Pluto, Ivy, Abby, Dash, and Peyton, will miss him terribly.
