Rafael Perez Obituary, Death – I am devastated to inform you that Rafael Perez passed away this morning. It is with a heavy heart that I must share this news with you. In your prayers, please remember to include Ralph’s wife, Milagros Cintron (Millie), as well as the rest of his family. Ralph, soar to glory! You are sure to be remembered forever. Rafael “Sijo” Perez, who resided in Cumberland and was 79 years old, passed away in a calm and homelike manner on Friday, April 28, 2023.Aracelis Perez-Nicolace, who resides in Cumberland, Fiordaliza Perez, who resides in New York, Rafael Perez Mojica, Katty Perez-Martinez, and Mariaelisa Perez, all of whom reside in the Dominican Republic, were his children or children.

Born in the Dominican Republic, he was the son of Ambrosio Perez and Carmela Mojica, both of whom passed away before his birth.It was in 1991 when he relocated to this country, and he settled in New York.Over the course of the past two years, he named Cumberland his home. He was a talented musician, and his family remembers him loving playing his guitar while drinking a glass of whiskey. He was affectionately known as Sijo among his friends and family.He devoted himself to the Boston Red Sox with a great deal of enthusiasm.

He also had a knack for gardening, enjoyed spending time in the garden, and possessed the talent of being a handyman; however, the thing that he valued the most was spending time with his family. Together with his children, he leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his children.His eight siblings, in addition to a number of nieces and nephews, are among those he leaves behind. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the Celebration of Life for Sijo, which will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 1 PM to 4 PM at the J. J.

Duffy Funeral Home, which is located at 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. His parents, Jesus and Beatrice, as well as his daughter, Gloria Perez, passed away before he did. He is left by his wife of 65 years, Josie Perez; three children: Sophia Royal, Ralph E. Perez Jr., and Richard Perez; six grandchildren: April, Brandy, Jade, Sean, Tatiana, and Aidan; and six great-grandchildren: Sierra, Zayan, Lily, Stella, Zayah, and Presley. He was married to Josie for 65 years. In addition, he is survived by his sister Theresa Ramirez, as well as a large number of lovely nieces and nephews.

His brothers are Ramon Perez, Raul “Roy” Perez, Ruben Perez, Bacilio Ramirez Jr., and Joe Ramirez. Through his work at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dad lived his life for everyone he loved, including his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and God. After serving for four years, he was eventually dismissed with honor from the Texas National Guard, where he had enlisted. Over the course of more than 33 years, Ralph worked for Goodyear, rising through the ranks to become the company’s Service Manager.

He was a member of the Lockhart Lion Booster Club and helped Josie with the Meals on Wheels program, which involved delivering food to people who were old or in need of aid who were in need of assistance. Ralph was a member of the Knights of Columbus, served on the Pastoral Council of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for more than 15 years, frequently acted as an usher for church mass on any given Sunday, and was in charge of the St. Mary’s Jamaica for a number of years. Over the course of more than half a century.

Ralph volunteered his time to take care of the cemetery at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He took great pleasure in interacting with others, particularly those he helped at the cemetery. And he was always willing to lend a helping hand to everybody he encountered. We, as his family, are grateful to him for the adoring love he had for others, the compassion he had for them, and the lessons he had learnt in life. We shall continue to serve those in our community and others who are in need as a way of honoring him.
