The BRVA also made the following statement:
“Our Broad Ripple community experienced a shooting early this morning inside Landsharks, killing one victim and leaving five others injured. We are saddened by the events that took place inside Landsharks. It is reprehensible that a life was lost, and that several individuals were injured emotionally and physically.
While the BRVA does not have the authority to regulate establishments, we are committed to continue working with business owners in the Village to help support a safe environment for our residents and visitors and will do everything within our power to advocate for those responsible to be held accountable.
Security measures and operating procedures that keep staff and patrons safe are critical. The majority of the bars in the Village are committed to and have put recommended safety procedures in place.
We stand ready to continue working with the mayor, prosecutor, IMPD, and both city and state legislators to take a stand against violence and implement effective solutions to create a safe and peaceful environment for our residents, visitors, and businesses.”
