According to Sergeant B.A. Taylor of The North Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 9 p.m. on Saturday on Highway 11 near the N.C. 102 intersection. The crash involved three vehicles, one of which caught fire following the impact.
Marqese Perkins was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while the two other victims were rushed to ECU Health Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
