For twenty-four years, Dr. Knapic dedicated his life to serving the patients of the Wooster Orthopedic Sports Medicine Center (WOSMC). During that time, his generosity and wisdom touched many people. In addition to his medical expertise, his patients revered him for his unwavering commitment to their well-being, and he was well-known for his unparalleled dedication to providing them with the best treatment possible.
But Dr. Knapic’s impact extended well beyond his field of medicine. He was a friend to everyone he met and a source of support and inspiration for his peers and coworkers, making him a vital member of the Wooster community. Whether it was lending a suffering patient words of encouragement or simply listening to a colleague in need, Dr. Knapic’s kindness and compassion had no boundaries.
A devoted family guy outside of work, Dr. Knapic was a proud father to his children and a devoted husband to Deb. Their deep love and relationship with one another served as the foundation for their whole existence. Dr. Knapic’s children gave him an unwavering sense of pride and joy and were the reason for his unwavering dedication to his family. In addition to his roles as a physician, spouse, and parent, Dr. Knapic was also very involved in the community, volunteering his time and expertise to a wide range of institutions and causes.
As a client of Shamrock Farms LLC and Setting Sun, Dr. Knapic forged lifelong relationships with Joe and Michele, leaving a multitude of priceless memories and shared experiences in their wake. The excitement of seeing Dr. Knapic do amazing feats on SL Cappuccino or the camaraderie of his well executed grilling at gatherings, his presence added coziness and vitality to every occasion.
He showed his commitment to child athletics by mentoring and setting an example for many young athletes while serving as a youth coach. Being an exceptional player at Rittman and The College of Wooster, he developed his love of athletics throughout his own college years. Though Dr. Knapic had a strong interest in athletics, his love of music was much stronger. He would surprise and amuse everyone around him with his musical talents.
Another manifestation of Dr. Knapic’s dedication to his community was his role as a board member for Wooster City Schools, where he dedicated his life to advancing the welfare and prosperity of the kids and families he worked with. His warmth, sense of humor, and genuine care for others captivated everyone with whom he had the pleasure of working.
Even as they mourn his departure, the community takes solace in memories of Dr. Michael Knapic’s remarkable life and the enduring impact he had on everyone he encountered. Even after he passed away, his impact is still felt by the people he touched and the hearts he permanently changed.
