Gearld Shockley Obituary, A Cherished Soul Has Passed Away At Aged 83
Gearld Shockley Obituary, Death Cause – St. Mary’s Medica Center in Huntington, West Virginia was the location where Gearld Eugene Shockley, who was 83 years old and from Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
He was the son of Alfred Shockley, who passed away, and Eileen Vanpelt Shockley, who also passed away. He was born on December 4, 1940 in Chesapeake, Ohio.
Following in the footsteps of his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Lee Shockley; his daughter, Dreama Williams; his sons, Gearld Shockley, Jr. and Troy Shockley; and his granddaughter, Alicia Palmore.
During his time at Chesapeake High School, Gearld was a diligent worker who worked a variety of jobs, including those at the American Cancer Society, as a car salesperson, and as a custodian at Chesapeake Middle School. As a spouse, father, grandfather, and friend, he was kind and compassionate.
He had a strong passion for worshiping and serving Jesus, and he was a man of tremendous faith. Gearld attended Pomaria Missionary Baptist Church as a member of the congregation.
In addition to fishing, he enjoyed being outside. He was a charismatic individual who had a large number of friends who did not get along with strangers. All of those who knew and loved him will miss him as much as they possibly can.
Gearld is survived by his wife, Valeria Shockley; his sister, Shirley Simmons; his brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Shockley; his grandchildren, Christina (Jason) Eaches, Joshua (Britney) Shockley, Candace (John) Brumfield, and Destiny (Seth) Taylor; and his great-grandchildren, Dreama “Braelyn” Eaches, Brenley Eaches, Tyler Shockley, Hallie Jo Shockley, Chase Shockley, Faythe Brumfield, Ryden Brumfield, and Willow Brumfield. Gearld is survived by his wife, Valeria Shockley; his sister, Randy Simmons; and his brothers Ronnie and Jerry Shockley.
On the Friday, March 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., there will be a service held at the graveside in Miller Memorial Gardens, which is located in Miller, Ohio. The family is receiving assistance with the preparations from the Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, which is located in Proctorville, Ohio.
