Investigations into the Cosham stabbing: Hampshire Police is looking into a stabbing that happened at the Cosham McDonald’s on Thursday night. Law enforcement sources report that a sizable police presence is warming up at the Cosham, Portsmouth, McDonald’s on Portsmouth Road.
About 7:00 p.m., Hampshire Police were sent to the site in response to a stabbing incident. Officers on the scene report that an attack at the well-known fast-food restaurant resulted in the discovery of a seriously injured youngster.
A 16-year-old kid was found with knife cuts to his arm, stomach, and thigh, according to Hampshire Police. The adolescent, whose identity is unknown, was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. According to the authorities, three youths, aged sixteen, seventeen, and eighteen, have been placed under arrest in relation to the incident. The stabbing in the Red Lion pub parking lot is being looked into by authorities.
At 5:43 p.m. on Monday, there was a report of a stabbing victim at the Red Lion pub parking lot, prompting the dispatch of police to the car park. In relation to the incident, Portsmouth resident Sammy Philpott was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Law enforcement officials who were looking into the incident have charged Sammy Philpott with two counts of Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. The 36-year-old resident of Portsmouth’s Eastern Road was put under custody and is expected to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court this morning.
While investigations are ongoing, a 40-year-old man from Chichester who was arrested in connection with this incident on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on conditional police bail. Investigations are still ongoing into the circumstances surrounding his release.
On suspicion of attempted murder, another Portsmouth man, 34 years old at the time of his arrest, was also placed in jail. He was eventually freed from police detention, however, and no further action was taken against him.
The victim, a 27-year-old Portsmouth man, is currently receiving treatment at Southampton General Hospital, where his condition is deemed stable. Throughout the event, another 39-year-old male Portsmouth resident also sustained injuries to his face and back. Following his transfer to Queen Alexandra Hospital, he was later discharged from the institution.
