Obituary, Death GoFundMe – The town of Coventry, Rhode Island is grieving the passing of Lou Ruffolo, a longtime psychologist at CHS.

Lou Ruffolo Death: Lou Ruffolo, a psychologist at CHS, unexpectedly died away. The official date of his death was Tuesday, March 19, 2024. After hearing of his untimely demise, he left behind many broken hearts. All of us who had the pleasure of getting to know him throughout his life will always miss him.

We bring with us deep sadness and heavy hearts the news of the untimely passing of a beloved member of our Rhode Island school psychology family.

In his more than two decades as a school psychologist, Dr. Lou Ruffolo has significantly impacted the lives of many individuals. Many individuals are deeply affected by his absence.

Lou was a wonderful person who will be remembered for his contributions to the industry and the many professionals and students he helped and supported. These are all the things that will stick in his memory. We know that many of you are going through similar things as we are, as we grieve the loss of our beloved friend and coworker. We are thinking about his family and the Coventry Public Schools community at this very difficult time, and we are asking for their support.

Give on GoFundMe to the Ruffolos
Jessica Ruffolo set up a GoFundMe page to collect money for the funeral and any other bills that could come up. “I am also conscious of the depth of other people’s grief over his passing, which is evidence of the extent of Lou’s concern and devotion for his friends, family, students, coworkers, and the communities he dedicated his life to.” We are so grateful that so many have inquired about how they may support us during this unexpected loss, said Jessica Ruffolo.

The Career of Lou Ruffolo at Coventry High School
Ruffolo served as a school psychologist for more than 23 years, during which time he coached our JV Boys Soccer and Unified Basketball teams. His loss had a profound impact on the Coventry Public Schools community, particularly the Coventry High School community.
