A shooting at the Walmart on Germantown Parkway at Trinity Road has left one person critically injured. Multiple businesses are currently on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
The victim has been transported to Regional One Hospital.
Additionally, police were engaged in a chase along I-240, which came to a halt in the vicinity of Airways Boulevard and Ketchum Road.
It remains unclear if this incident is related to the situation at the Walmart.
By 3 p.m., police confirmed that the situation at the Walmart had been brought under control.
Emergency responders began heading to the area around 2:00 p.m.
Shortly after law enforcement officers swarmed the Walmart, a substantial police presence was also observed at I-240 and Airways Boulevard, approximately 20 miles from the Walmart.
