Today’s Tom Green Elementary Accident: In western Bastrop County, a school bus carrying over 40 pupils and 11 adults overturned, leaving two people dead, including a child. According to law enforcement authorities who talked with the newspaper, a school bus and a concrete truck collided on Friday afternoon along State Highway 21, resulting in a deadly rollover.

Early this afternoon, a Hays CISD bus transporting pre-K students from Tom Green Elementary was involved in a catastrophic collision. After visiting the Bastrop Zoo on a class trip, the pupils were heading back. On the bus were eleven adults and forty-four (44) students.
Parents of pupils traveling on the bus have received notification straight from the school. Reunification is being carried out by the district.Transportation employees, counselors, safety and security officers, and other administrators from Hays CISD have joined first responders at the scene of the accident or at the reunion point.
How did the collision occur?
The Hays Consolidated Independent School District states that the bus in question belonged to Tom Green Elementary, which emphasizes the accident’s profound effects on the neighborhood school community. Austin-Travis County emergency care personnel responded quickly, even flying five patients to nearby hospitals.
The emergency medical services also reported the arrival of an ambulance bus that can accommodate up to forty passengers at once, and five more ambulances were dispatched to the scene. While emergency workers work nonstop to assist those affected, the community laments the deaths and finds it difficult to deal with the aftermath of the horrific tragedy.
