Physician Eilish Cleary Death and Obituary: A former chief medical officer of New Brunswick passed away. The dead has been recognised as Penniac, New Brunswick resident Dr. Eilish Cleary. On March 22, 2024, she reportedly died in Fredericton, Quebec, of ovarian cancer, accompanied by her family. When Dr. Eilish Cleary passed away, she was sixty years old.

Dr. Eilish Cleary: who was she?
1963 saw the birth of Eilish in Dublin, Ireland, to John and Mary Cleary. Brid, Kevin, Fiona, and Siobhan are her siblings. Eilish became the youngest doctor in Ireland at the age of 22.

After moving to Canada with her immediate family in 1998, she worked there for the most of her life. Eilish has devoted her life to bringing about universal access to healthcare because she firmly believes in its viability.

Together, Eilish and Gerard Beirne produced four children that she adored: James, Luke, Sorcha, and Cormac. She has a deep love for travel and fostered this passion in her children from an early age. In 1998, the family moved to Norway House Cree Nation in Northern Manitoba, where she worked at the hospital. Even though the relocation was only supposed to be temporary, she was able to find employment in Manitoba, where the family lived permanently for a number of years. Eventually, Eilish moved to New Brunswick with her family, where she worked her way up to Chief Medical Officer of Health.

When Eilish met Paul Meyer in New Brunswick, she found that they both had a passion for extreme water sports and travel. They bought a Penniac house and put a lot of time and effort into making it their own, including building a bunkhouse and walking pathways through the woods. They visited the property often in the years that followed, walking across its forested hills for hours at a time. Until her death, Eilish loved her little cabin in the woods. Her ashes will be returned to Ireland as per her desires.
