David Woodard Death: On Sunday, March 24, 2024, in the morning, David Warren Woodard, Jr., a resident of Wilson, passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family.
Ralph L. Fike awarded David his high school graduation, and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he was a member of the Zeta Psi fraternity, awarded him his undergraduate degree. David obtained a master’s degree in taxation from the New York University School of Law after completing his legal studies at the University of North Carolina.
Who Was David Woodard?
Throughout the course of his more than fifty years in the legal profession, David helped many people through both good and bad times with his integrity, keen mind, and compassionate nature. Having spent his whole childhood in Wilson, he was deeply passionate about the growth and development of his hometown. He took great pleasure in coaching his girls in soccer, rooting for the North Carolina Tar Heels, and curling up with a good book on the Morehead City porch.
He will always be regarded as the greatest father his girls could have had because of the kindness, compassion, and dedication he instilled in them. Before he was even born, his sister Romaine Clark Woodard and parents David Warren Woodard and Romaine Clark Woodard died.
The schedule for David Woodard’s funeral and obituary
A memorial ceremony will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Wilson, North Carolina, on Tuesday, March 26th, at eleven a.m. There will be a reception following the service. The family has asked that donations be given to the Romaine and Dave Woodard Memorial Fund at First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 3184, Wilson, North Carolina 27895, in lieu of flowers.
The people left behind when David Woodard passed away include his wife, Mila Broadfoot Woodard, and his daughters, Romaine Clark Woodard (Gabe Tiller) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Kate Woodard Marks (Smith) of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Warren Woodard of New York, New York.
