Dennis Turner Death – Licensed Eastport Pilot Dennis Turner of Perry, Maine has sadly passed away. He died on Saturday 23rd March 2024 at the age of 74.

The news of his death has left family, friends and colleagues in shock. The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of Dennis Turner’s death has not been released at the time this report was made. Born on April 9, 1949, in St. Stephen, NB, he was the son of Wesley J. and Frances M. (Morrison) Turner.

Raised in Eastport and Perry, he attended Eastport schools and graduated from Shead Memorial High School in 1967. Later, he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration from Husson College. His career commenced in his teenage years at the Mearl Corporation in Eastport, where he developed expertise in chemistry.

Beyond his professional pursuits, he possessed a diverse range of talents and interests. He displayed a voracious intellectual curiosity, delving into various subjects through extensive reading and research.

A connoisseur of local history, he could engage in knowledgeable conversations on almost any topic and offered valuable insights into the stock market and investments to his family and friends.

His adventurous spirit extended to aviation, holding a pilot’s license and actively participating in the Eastport Airport Committee. Additionally, he dedicated significant time as a volunteer for Eastport’s former ambulance corps.

His community involvement further extended to serving on the Eastport School Board for several years, demonstrating his commitment to education.

Following his relocation with Gwen to their residence on the Shore Road in Perry, he continued to enrich his community through various engagements. Despite the brevity of this narrative, his multifaceted persona, characterized by intellectual curiosity, community service, and a passion for aviation, shines brightly.

He was predeceased by his father, mother, and stepfather Harry J. Raye. Besides his wife Gwen, he is survived by his daughter Amy, of Perry; son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Jessica, of Robbinston; two cherished granddaughters, Tori & husband Nikolas Edwards, of Hudson, and Cassidy Turner and companion Parker Williams, of Rochester, NH; and two great-grandchildren Chloe and Myles.

Survivors also include brothers and sisters-in-law David & Dorothy Turner of Port Charlotte, FL, Kevin & Karen Raye of Perry, William & Ada Raye of Marshfield, and Judith Turner of Eastport; brother-in-law and his wife Gerald & Tracy Cline, of Campobello; three step-brothers and their wives Gary & Carol Raye of Lincoln, James & Lorie Raye of Eastport, and Stephen & Donna Raye of Embden; one uncle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In accordance with Dennis’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Those who wish may make gifts in his memory to North Perry United Methodist Church, PO Box 145, Perry, ME 04667, or Sarah’s House of Maine, 346 Main Road, Holden, ME 04429.
