Elizabeth “Libby” Currin Obituary, Death – It was on Monday, March 25, 2024 that Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” Mae Holder Currin, who resided in Lillington and was 88 years old, passed away. She was surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of Leslie Carson Holder and Callie Mae Black Holder, both of whom passed away before her birth, and she was born in Harnett County. Libby’s parents were not the only people who passed away before her; her husband, Tim Currin, and her brother, Harry Holder, also passed away before her.

As a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Libby was a loving member of the family. She had been a member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church for her entire life, and she was an active participant in the Women of the church.

A pin commemorating Libby’s lifetime membership in the Summerville Presbyterian Church was presented to her. It was when she was surrounded by her grandkids and great grandchildren that Libby had the most joy. The anticipation she felt for their visits on Sunday evenings was palpable.

Everyone who came to her house was always made to feel welcome, fed, and loved, although her grandkids and great grandchildren received extra attention. They were always aware of the location of the treats. In her life, Libby devoted herself to serving her family as well as other people.

She is survived by her sons, Timmy Currin Jr. and his wife Susan, Tony Currin and his wife Darlene, and Terry Currin and his wife Laura; her six grandchildren, Amy Barefoot (Jonathan), David Currin (Victoria), Brittney Currin Harrington (Matt), Jessica Currin McLain

(Tyree), Ryan Currin, and Jaylyn Spitzer; her seven great-grandchildren, Gavin and Grant Barefoot, Carson Currin, Emmy Kate and Claire Harrington, Kyler and Karter McLain; her sisters, Lenora Morrison, Vivian Stephenson, and Nancy McNeill; her brother, Franklin Holder (Laura), James Holder (Barbara); and a large number of nieces and nephews.

On the afternoon of Thursday, March 28, 2024, the family will have a gathering for guests at Summerville Presbyterian Church from 2:00 to 3:45 PM, as well as at her residence at various times.

There will thereafter be a funeral service held in the sanctuary of the church at four o’clock. After that, the burial will take place in the Westview Cemetery in Lillington.
