Ryan Wallace Death, Obituary:- Two people died following a deadly bus accident that happened this past Friday, the 22nd of March 2024. The victims were identified as Ulises Rodriguez Montoya and Ryan Wallace.

According to reports, University of Texas at Austin PhD student Ryan Wallace and 5-year-old Ulises Rodriguez Montoya passed away from injuries sustained in the bus crash. According to reports, over 50 people were involved in the Bastrop County bus accident.

Wallace, a Bastrop native, was driving a Dodge Charger behind the Hays School Bus when his vehicle collided with the back of the bus when a concrete truck swerved into the wrong lane and collided with the bus, which rolled over and ejected several children. The Hays CISD school bus carried 44 Tom Green Elementary School children and 11 adults. The school was returning after a field trip to the Bastrop Zoo.

As of Monday, it was unknown what led the concrete truck to deviate out of its lane, and officials had yet to release the name of the driver or the corporation that owns the truck. According to the Statesman, two adults and two children remained in the hospital on Monday, but all were stable. The district superintendent told the Statesman that the students would most likely be released later Monday.

The message said the graduate department at UT’s School of Journalism and Media was “devastated to lose him” and is working with his family to honor his life. The department offered UT resources like the school’s CARE counselors to support students grieving the loss.
