Thomas Gregory Obituary Rotterdam NY, Death – Thomas Gregory, 43, died away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024 at his home in Rotterdam, New York with his loving family by his side after a heroic struggle with Stage 4 Colorectal cancer.
It was Rance and Jill Gregory who gave birth to Thomas Gregory. Over the course of more than sixteen years, Tom Gregory, who was born and raised in Voorheesville, New York, was a devoted husband to Brooke M. Gregory.
Thomas held the position of Office assistant 3, Principal Clerk with Local Union CSEA while he was employed by the New York State Police in Albany with Department Troop T. Thomas was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed eating as well as watching football. It was especially enjoyable for him to be Sadie’s “Dance Dad” and he enjoyed attending all of Sadie’s activities.
It was a source of great joy for him to teach Henry about the world of sports. Every year, Thomas and his family would travel to Douthat State Park in Virginia, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of his life. Mr. Tom was a wonderful human being.
In addition to being funny, he was always so kind. Upstate, New York was the location of Tom’s alma mater, and he was a young man who participated in football there.
On each and every play, he played with such fervor and dedication, and he gave his absolute best. Tom will be remembered for his unyielding spirit in the face of cancer, which will be one of his legacies.
His wonderful sense of humor and his unwavering faith in God will be remembered through the years. There were a number of aunts and cousins who passed away before Thomas, including his maternal grandparents, his paternal grandfather, and several others.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is survived by his wife Brooke, he is the cherished father of Sadie and Henry. Brother of Amy (Greg) Palmer. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Trish McCluskey, his paternal grandmother, Penny, five nephews and several cousins. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
A funeral ceremony will follow the calling hours at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Internment will follow the funeral in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family begs that donations be made in the names of Sadie and Henry Gregory at the Sunmark Credit Union. The family would like to especially thank the Rouse family who have offered many years of friendship, love and comfort for the family also to the entire team at NYOH and the NYS Police for all of their compassion and support given to Thomas and his family during this time.
