Lealie Mae Price Obituary, Death – We regret to inform you of the passing of Lealie Mae Price, a much-loved resident of Martinsville. All who were fortunate enough to know her will always treasure the memories she left behind of love, kindness, and determination. In Martinsville, Virginia, Lealie’s parents, Dan S. Price, Jr. and Lula Brown Martin Price, were married and had a daughter, Lealie, on August 24, 1960. Her brothers, Fred Anderson Martin and Daniel S. Price III, were also part of her loving family environment as they were growing up. The groundwork for Lealie’s future achievements was laid during her time at Martinsville High School.
Lealie enrolled at Dudley’s Cosmetology School after finishing high school to follow her dream of becoming a cosmetologist. She became a certified cosmetologist after honing her skills there.
As a result of her perseverance and commitment, Lealie is now a respected ambassador in the beauty industry. In the end, she was able to fulfill her lifelong ambition of opening her very own beauty parlor, where she not only served her customers with the utmost care but also forged deep connections with her neighbors.
A Devoted Woman
Being an active member of Divine Faith, Lealie’s life was shaped by her unwavering faith in God. She found solace and strength in her faith in times of joy and times of sorrow. Lealie’s compassion and unfaltering faith in love’s transformative power affected everyone she met.
Those fortunate enough to have known Lealie, as well as her loved ones, are devastated by her death. We will miss her gentle demeanor, encouraging words, and infectious laughter. Even though we are grieving her passing, we are also celebrating all the good times and memories she shared with us.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM, the Wright Funeral Service Chapel will host a funeral service to pay tribute to Lealie Mae Price’s life. Guests will have the opportunity to pay their last respects and console the grieving family during a visitation that will take place prior to the funeral. As we come together to say our goodbyes to Lealie, may we find comfort in knowing that her life’s work will serve as an inspiration to many.
Even though she is physically gone, the people who were lucky enough to know her will carry her memory with them always. We are grateful for the love and light that Lealie Mae Price brought into our lives, and we say our last goodbyes to her with gratitude.
