Indiana, Indiana — An inquiry has been opened after the discovery of the death of Vontae Davis, a former cornerback for the National Football League, inside a residence in Southwest Ranches, Florida, on Monday.
Davis was 35 years old.
There were rumors of a corpse being located in a property in Florida, and ESPN and the NFL verified that Davis was the dead person. Officials with the Davie Police Department recognized Davis as the deceased person on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, there is no suspicion of any criminal activity.
An extensive change of kickoff regulations has been approved by NFL owners, who are adopting the arrangement employed in XFL.
On Monday, Davis’s friends and former coworkers turned to social media to express their condolences and memory of the football star who passed away.
Chester Frazier, an assistant coach at the University of Illinois, where Davis evolved into a top cornerback, stated in a social media post on Monday, “#illinination we lost a great today!!!” Davis was a standout cornerback throughout his time at the university. “Rest in peace, @vontaedavis. I have nothing but sweet recollections of the guy from my time in school!!! Please keep the Davis family in your prayers!
Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, also expressed his sympathy on the loss.
He expressed his profound sorrow by posting on X, “Extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Vontae Davis.” “A wonderful person, member of the team, and player. Please accept my prayers for Vontae’s family.

Another person who responded on Facebook was Bobby Maze, who was a boyhood friend of Davis’s.
It is said in Maze’s letter that “life will never be the same without my brother.” “It just wasn’t supposed to end like this,” he continued in a later section. “It just kind of happened.”
The death of Jennifer Leak, a soap opera actress who appeared on ‘Y&R’ and ‘Another World,’ has occurred at the age of 76, according to her husband. Davis was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the first round in 2009, but his career took off when the Colts acquired him in a trade with the Dolphins before to the 2012 season. Davis started 76 games over his six years with the Indianapolis Colts and recorded 13 interceptions. It was in March of 2014 that the Colts signed him to a deal that was for $39 million over four years, with $20 of that amount guaranteed. He would be chosen to the Pro Bowl in both 2014 and 2015.
A prolonged groin issue that first resulted in Davis being benched and then resulted in Davis opting to have surgery that would terminate his season was a contributing factor in the Colts’ decision to release Davis in November of 2017. In 2018, Davis signed a contract with Buffalo, however he only played in one game for the team.
