In addition, he is survived by seventeen grandkids and seventeen great-grandchildren. Several members of his family, including two of his siblings, Al and Theresa, as well as a son, Joe Laporte, Jr., and two grandkids, John Barnett and Rochelle Laporte, had already passed away prior to his passing. A significant portion of Joseph’s life was spent serving in the United States Navy.

His favorite activities included golf, hunting, and fishing. He took great pleasure in all of these pursuits. Because of the efforts that Joseph and Barbara have made to raise awareness about fishing and teach people about the sport, the state of Massachusetts has recognized them with awards and praised them for their efforts.

In addition to being a devoted member of the church, he was employed as a counselor for children with disabilities (CCD) at St. Catherines of Sweden in Worcester for a number of years throughout the course of several years.

At Mulhane Home for Funerals, which can be found at 45 North Main Street in Millbury, there will be a visitation where family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects to Joseph.
