Markya Hunt’s obituary: A month ago, a young mother from South Florida lost her life in a hit-and-run accident in Margate. The motorist has since been taken into custody by the authorities. In the eyes of the woman’s family, it’s a positive move towards justice.
Ricky Lee, 20, was taken into custody on Friday and showed up for court on Saturday morning. Lee is charged with fleeing on foot after a collision with a tree, resulting in the death of a young lady and the injuries of two others. On February 6, a collision at the junction of Rock Island Road and Northwest 1st Street in Margate claimed the life of Markya Kyana Hunt, age 21.
For the non-life-threatening injuries that Hunt’s 1-year-old daughter and the other women in the car had, hospitalisation was required. Hunt’s family members are attempting to put together what transpired now that they have some clues. As Hunt’s cousin Kimesha Pierre said, none of us can ever find comfort until we fully understand what happened with her.
Pierre compared her bond with Hunt to that of a sister and cousin.”She was really devoted,” Pierre said. “It doesn’t matter how long it takes; she will be by your side until the very end.” Pierre claims that she is thinking about her cousin all the time. Pierre said, “It can bring back memories of our childhood together, or it can make me feel a little down.” Hunt’s family was relieved that someone was acting following the arrest, despite the fact that they only had those recollections to rely on.
Vehicle murder, leaving the scene of a fatal accident without staying, and driving without a valid driving licence are some of the charges levied against Lee. For him, a bail over $250,000 was set. If he bonds out, he will be placed under house arrest, not be allowed to drive or consume alcohol, and need to wear a GPS monitor.
In an interview with NBC 6, Hunt’s mother said that Lee and her daughter had a tight relationship. According to Pierre, there are still a lot of unresolved issues for the family.
I’m not sure I get it. Was there any way to stop it? How did it feel to be the sole survivors in the disaster, and did anybody else experience any changes in feelings? “Pierre stated,” he remarked.
The whole family is supporting one another in addition to Keionni, Hunt’s daughter, who is surviving the disaster. As they raise her, they swear to always tell her tales of her mother. Pierre reassured her that her memory was intact. She was present here. She was loved.
