Two Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College students were arrested and sent to jail after police allegedly found narcotics and pilfered guns on campus. Just before two in the morning on Friday, April 4, Wiggins police pulled up a Pontiac Grand Prix for moving infractions, according to Capt. Jimmy Green.
Green claims that the police obtained authorization to search the vehicle as soon as they detected marijuana odours inside. Green claims that in addition to various packaging and selling gadgets, the police also found thirteen grammes of marijuana and two stolen weapons.
The investigation may then proceed with the sending of police to the site by the Stone Wiggins Narcotics Task Force. When the police arrived, they discovered that Chester Alexander, a 19-year-old student at MGCCC in Perkinston, was riding shotgun. After further investigation, authorities thought that Alexander’s roommate in the dorm, 19-year-old Cameron Braun, was selling marijuana on campus. It is absurd, in my view, that this would occur on a university campus. Green said, “Drugs and guns have no place here.”
Green claims that on a visit to Braun’s dorm room on the Perkinston campus, police were able to get his consent to look about the space. According to Green, the defendants maintained a gun and more marijuana in a car outside the hostel, and the cops found a sizable amount of cash hidden in the room. Green claims Braun led the investigators to the car and gave them a digital scale, an ounce of marijuana, ammunition, and an additional firearm.
From what we can tell today, Alexander and Braun moved to South Mississippi from Chicago, Illinois, where they were attending college, and that’s when they started selling marijuana. According to officials, the males used the argument that having three firearms would be helpful in an emergency to justify their purchase. Schools provide pupils a secure environment in which to study objectively.
Regulations are in place to preserve impartiality for this reason. Those two were trying to make money by selling illegal substances out of the predicament. Green issued a warning, saying that those who were at fault will pay a price for their actions.
Alexander and Braun were charged with possessing two stolen firearms, having a weapon on school premises, and having a controlled drug with the intent to distribute it. At the Stone County Jail, the men are now being held on a $100,000 bond.
