Crest Hill Shooting Today – Shots were fired at a number of businesses located on both sides of Theodore Street on Tuesday afternoon, which resulted in the closure of a segment of the road by the Joliet and Crest Hill police departments. Because of the gunshot, Merichka’s restaurant has stated on social media that it will be closed for the remainder of the day on account of the incident. At the site on Tuesday, there were gunshot holes visible in the windows of the restaurant that faced Theodore Street. Additionally, there was a bullet hole in the drywall of the waiting area of the restaurant. Nobody was there in the waiting room at the time when the incident took place.

After gunshots destroyed windows at Ascendant Iron, a personal training firm, employees could be seen cleaning up the glass. This was located directly across the street from the shooting. Joe Zdralevich, the proprietor of Merichka’s, reported to Patch that in addition to four bullets hitting the restaurant structure, one of them penetrated a handicapped parking placard.

Itwas stated by him that the restaurant has been subjected to vandalism during the course of its existence, including the firing of BB guns at the structure during the night, but that this has never occurred whilst the restaurant was open for business. As he explained to Patch, “We just happened to be in the middle of it.” He insisted that the Merichka’s residence was not the intended target of the gunfire.

According to him, the most important thing is that there were no injuries sustained by anyone, and he stated that the restaurant will be open as usual on Wednesday. “I just wanted to give everyone a quick update so that they are aware of what is going on. The Merichka’s restaurant made the announcement on their Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon that they would be closed for the rest of the night because of a gunshot investigation that took place outside of their establishment.

There were no injuries reported, but it is clear that many are shaken up. I would like to extend my apologies to both our client base and our staff members who were present at the time of the incident. Despite the fact that this should never have occurred, I cannot express how thankful I am that nobody was wounded.

The eatery also responded to the well-wishes of the locals by saying, “Thank you all for the kindest words,” after receiving the messages. We are all aware that anything like this could occur, but we are praying that it does not. The number of good people, such as you all, will always be greater than the number of bad people, and the good will always prevail. Thank you so much to each and every one of you.

An other proprietor of a company on Theodore Street who was not present during the shooting explained to Patch that he arrived at the site after the gunfire had stopped and discovered forty to fifty round shells lying on the ground close to the strip mall that is located just across the street from Merichka’s. There was a shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Theodore at approximately one o’clock in the afternoon, according to the Crest Hill police department and the Joliet police department. The first indications indicate that the suspects may have fled the area on foot.
