Ethan Squires, a beloved figure known for his multifaceted identity, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and inspiration. Born on July 6, 2002, Ethan was the first child of Jeff and Whitney Squires.
Despite initially hesitant about his role as a big brother to his sister Everly, Ethan quickly embraced his role, becoming not only a loving sibling but also Everly’s most trusted friend and supporter.
Throughout his life, Ethan excelled in various roles and pursuits. He graduated from Raymond Elementary as an Outstanding Band Student and continued to shine at Union Grove High School, where he was a four-year letter winner and captain of the tennis team, as well as the first chair trombone player.
His active involvement in Faithbridge Church’s youth program showcased his strong Christian faith and compassionate nature, earning him admiration from peers and mentors alike.
After high school, Ethan pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he studied Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. His passion for music remained undiminished as he actively participated in the university’s music department, showcasing his talent and dedication as a musician. Additionally, Ethan’s commitment to his Christian faith continued through his involvement in InterVarsity Bible Study, where he found a community that shared his values and beliefs.
Outside of academics and extracurricular activities, Ethan also made significant contributions in his professional life. His role as a Student Manager at Kristine’s Kafé highlighted his leadership abilities and dedication to his work, while his involvement in technology projects showcased his skills and innovation as a builder. He was a role model to youth, a source of inspiration to friends, and a pillar of strength to his family.
