Malachi Wiliams Death – The man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting on Thursday has been identified by the San Marcos Police Department.
In a press release issued on Monday, investigators revealed that the victim’s name was Malachi Williams, a 22-year-old individual. The department has already informed his family about the tragic incident.
The shooting incident occurred as a result of reports received by the police regarding a suspect who matched Williams’ description.
This suspect had allegedly followed two men and brandished two knives outside a convenience store located on Cheatham Street.
Upon locating Williams at the same store, the officers tried to apprehend him. However, he attempted to escape on foot, leading to a confrontation that ultimately resulted in his death.
The incident took place near the intersection of East Hopkins Street and Thorpe Lane.
Both the Texas Rangers and the San Marcos Police Department are conducting separate investigations into the shooting incident.
