Niomi Russell Death – A group of individuals outside an apartment building in Southeast witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday night, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old girl.
According to the D.C. police, shots were fired from a vehicle, leading to the fatal outcome. The incident occurred on Elvans Road in the 2400 block, shortly before 11 p.m. The police were already present in the vicinity and heard the gunshots.
Upon being shot, the teenage girl sought refuge inside the apartment building, where she was discovered by the officers. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Niomi Russell, a 15-year-old resident of Northwest. In their updated news release, the police did not provide any details regarding the suspects or the vehicle involved.
However, immediately after the incident, investigators issued a lookout for a silver SUV with a black top, which was last seen near the scene. The police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the department at 202-727-9099.
