Eileen Monaghan Obituary – Eileen Monaghan, a 48-year-old woman from Chicopee, was tragically killed in a stabbing incident over the weekend.
The Hampden County District Attorney’s office confirmed that Jason Chapdelaine, a 52-year-old man from Springfield, was found with self-inflicted injuries at the scene and has been charged with murder.
Monaghan, who previously worked for the Hampden County Sheriff’s office and served as chief of staff to a former state representative, was described by her former colleagues as a victim of domestic violence.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed their condolences on Facebook, highlighting Monaghan’s positive impact and the loss felt by her loved ones.
Monaghan, survived by her two daughters, had recently experienced another family tragedy with the passing of her brother.
Chapdelaine is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday for arraignment.
