Jordan Gonzalez Obituary – A man has been taken into custody for a shooting that resulted in the death of an individual in a Peoria neighborhood.
The incident occurred on April 2 near 83rd Avenue and Jefferson Street. Law enforcement officers were alerted to the area at 3:30 a.m. following reports of a person potentially experiencing a seizure in the street.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the victim, Jordan Gonzalez 33-year-old of Phoenix, lying on the road. Authorities assisted the victim until Peoria Fire Medical arrived, determining that he had sustained gunshot wounds. Gonzalez was declared deceased at the scene.
The police stated that this incident seems to involve individuals who may be acquainted with each other, and there is no threat to the general public.
On April 16, authorities announced the arrest of 37-year-old Michael Villareal Jr. in connection to the shooting. Villareal was taken into custody and is facing charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
