Melissa Duquette Obituary, Woman 24, found dead in basement of home
Melissa Duquette Obituary – The death of a woman discovered in the basement of a residence in the Dundonald neighborhood is being investigated as a homicide by Saskatoon police. Law enforcement officers were called to a property at 3206 33rd St. W. shortly before noon CST on Monday following reports of an “insecure property.”
Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of 24-year-old Melissa Duquette in the basement, as stated in a police press release.
The cause of death has not been disclosed. As of Monday evening, the police had the residence and surrounding yard cordoned off. Subsequently, in the early hours of Tuesday, Saskatoon police responded to a shooting incident on Avenue O, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old individual.
This marks the eighth homicide in Saskatoon this year, with a total of 12 homicides recorded in 2023.
