Wismea Harris Obituary, Coroner declared the death of a 23-year-old in Horry County as a homicide
Wismea Harris Obituary – Authorities have announced that the death of a 23-year-old individual in Horry County is now being treated as a homicide. According to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, the deceased, Wismea Harris, was discovered by his family just inside the entrance of their residence on Long Branch Swamp Road early Sunday morning.
An autopsy revealed that Harris had sustained “sharp instrument injuries to his upper body” and the time of death was determined to be shortly after midnight. The Horry County Police Department is currently investigating the matter.
A police report obtained by WMBF News stated that officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of an unresponsive individual, later identified as Harris.
Wismea’s mother, Wanda Harris, recounted finding her son lying on the floor of her trailer upon returning home after midnight on Sunday. She noticed blood around his neck and back and attempted CPR before calling 911.
Wanda Harris mentioned that her son had schizophrenia but was taking medication and was employed. She also expressed suspicions of foul play in his death and vowed that those responsible would be held accountable. Please stay tuned to WMBF News for any further updates on this case.
