The Lake County coroner has named the teen who died in a horrific vehicle accident in Northwest Indiana. The Lake County Coroner’s Office said that the event happened on Friday night at approximately 11:33 p.m. on East Dunes Highway and I-65 northbound in Gary, Indiana.
Although the specifics of what caused the crash are yet unknown, the authorities have identified the victim as 14-year-old Jayden Smith. On Saturday morning, the coroner’s office quickly broke the heartbreaking news to Smith’s family.
Multiple blunt force injuries from the accident were Smith’s cause of death, according to a forensic examination. The inquiry is still on, and the incident has been declared an accident.
