Kevin Willington Obituary – A man aged 53 has passed away following a shooting at a residence in the Manor Park neighborhood of Ottawa. Authorities were alerted to the situation at the intersection of Birch Avenue and Hemlock Road around 9:22 p.m. on Friday, as stated by the Ottawa police in a release on Saturday morning.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the man with severe injuries, and he succumbed to them shortly thereafter. At present, no individuals have been taken into custody. The police have indicated that the shooting seems to have been deliberate and not a random act, with no ongoing threat to public safety.
Later on Saturday, the victim was identified as Kevin Willington from Ottawa. Rawlson King, the Rideau-Rockcliffe Counsellor, expressed his primary concern for the well-being of the local residents, the victims, their families, and the nearby community members who may have been affected by the incident.
Residents interviewed by CBC mentioned feeling disturbed by the occurrence. Despite the tragic event, individuals were still out and about in the neighborhood on Saturday, engaging in various activities. The police’s homicide unit is currently looking into the matter, with law enforcement vehicles maintaining a presence at the property near Birch and Hemlock that was cordoned off on Saturday morning.
