Sgt. Colin Arslanbas Obituary-Death News; Member Of The Marine Corps, Sgt. Colin Arslanbas Passes Away In A Training Accident In Carteret County
A press release from II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune identified the Marine who sadly lost his life in a training mishap in Carteret County as Sgt. Colin Arslanbas.
Sgt. Arslanbas died on Thursday night just after 11 p.m. He was a member of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Maritime Special Purpose Force, at Camp Lejeune.
The commanding officer of the 24th MEU, Col. Todd Mahar, conveyed his profound sadness over the death of Sgt. Arslanbas and offered the family his sincere condolences and steadfast support during this trying time. Missouri native Sgt. Arslanbas enlisted in the Marine Corps on March 26, 2020, and on April 1 of that year, he was elevated to the rank of sergeant.
As a Reconnaissance Marine in the MSPF, he was awarded multiple commendations, such as the National Defense Service medal, the Marine Corps Good Conduct medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service medal. The cause of the collision is being looked into in an ongoing investigation.
