Ana-Maria Guja Death: Pregnant Woman Found Dead in Mud Pit After Entering Wrong Car
Ana-Maria Guja Death – Ana-Maria Guja vanished on April 12, and was last spotted entering the vehicle of an individual believed to be a former police officer. Her lifeless body was found eight days later, on Saturday, dumped in a pit of soil and concealed with branches.
The murder of the 19-year-old, who was pursuing a degree in pedagogy, has deeply shaken Moldova. Over 900 individuals assisted the police in scouring the city of Orhei, approximately 30 miles away from the capital city of Chisinau, in search of her.
Footage depicted volunteers combing through fields and forests in the area, hoping to find her alive. After five days, the police confirmed that Ana-Maria’s remains were discovered in a forest near a stream, close to the village of Chițcanii.
Local media reported that she was studying at the Orhei Pedagogical College, and her mother revealed that she was six months pregnant. It is believed that on the evening of her disappearance, the victim mistakenly entered the wrong car instead of the one arranged by her boyfriend to pick her up, although this has yet to be confirmed by authorities.
Subsequently, the police apprehended a 45-year-old man, a former police officer, in connection with her murder.
A timeline of her disappearance indicates that she entered a car on August Street at 9 pm on April 12 and departed in an unknown direction.
In a statement, the police force declared, “The car in which the victim entered has been located, and its driver has been identified and apprehended. The 45-year-old man has been detained for 72 hours. He is not cooperating with the investigation.”
The police released his photograph on Facebook, stating that he has significantly altered his appearance over time, and urged the public to come forward if they had previously experienced harassment from him.
During the search of his residence and vehicle, officers discovered various items belonging to women.
As part of their appeal, the police force published a CCTV image of the suspect driving another woman in his car.
Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding Ana-Maria’s cause of death or the progress of the investigation.
A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to assist her family with funeral expenses.
