James K. Brusenhan Obituary: Columbus Police Identify Pedestrian in Fatal Hit-and-Run by Two Vehicles
James K. Brusenhan Obituary – James K. Brusenhan, 66, passed away shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday while crossing East Broad Street at Richmond Woods Drive outside of a marked crosswalk near The Monarch on East Broad apartment complex.
The incident occurred across from the Blacklick Square strip plaza and just east of Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road.
An unidentified vehicle traveling westbound on East Broad Street, a road with two lanes in each direction, a center turn lane, and a speed limit of 50 mph, initially struck Brusenhan and fled the scene.
The impact from this vehicle caused Brusenhan to be knocked into the center turn lane. Subsequently, Brusenhan moved into the left eastbound lane, where he was hit by a 2016-2018 Toyota RAV4 on the front driver’s side.
The driver of the SUV also left the scene. Emergency responders from the Columbus Division of Fire arrived and pronounced Brusenhan deceased at the scene at 1:06 a.m. The authorities are currently investigating the crash.
