The Denton Calvary Academy community is mourning the loss of their beloved high school principal, Jarod Grice. With heavy hearts, friends, family, and colleagues remember a man who dedicated his life to education, service, and music.

Jarod Grice, husband to Morgan Grice and father figure to many students, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and excellence. Born and raised in rural Oklahoma, Jarod’s journey was marked by a commitment to learning and a passion for music.

Jarod’s educational journey was rich with academic achievements. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music Performance from Cameron University, where his love for music flourished.

Later, he pursued his Master of Divinity in Biblical Theology from Redeemer Theological Seminary in Dallas, embodying his dedication to both spiritual and intellectual growth.

His professional life was characterized by service and leadership. Jarod served in vocational ministry roles, including as a worship pastor and small group pastor, where he touched the lives of many through his words and actions.

In 2014, Jarod and Morgan made Denton their home, and he assumed the role of high school principal at Denton Calvary Academy, where he tirelessly worked to shape young minds and hearts.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Jarod was a man of diverse interests and passions. He found joy in writing and performing music, a talent that resonated with all who knew him.

His love for literature and the great outdoors was evident to anyone who spent time with him. Recently, he discovered his strong Scottish lineage, igniting a desire to explore his ancestral roots in Scotland—a dream he hoped to fulfill one day.

Jarod’s impact extended far beyond the walls of the academy. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his students and colleagues left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
