Jason McKenzie, Christine Cambric Obituary – Last week, two individuals named Jason McKenzie, aged 50, and Christine Cambric, aged 53, were tragically found deceased in a residence located in the 500 block of Woodrow Avenue, near South Cedar Street.
The police have classified this incident as a double homicide. On Sunday at approximately 10:30 p.m., a suspect who was wanted for questioning in relation to the case was apprehended and taken into custody.
The Lansing police have identified the suspect as Dennis (Josh) Whaley, aged 51. The Lansing Police Department Public Information Director, Jordan Gulkis, has chosen not to disclose any further details on Monday.
It remains unclear where Whaley was located, the circumstances surrounding his arrest, and whether he will face charges in connection with the homicides or the subsequent two-day search for him. Gulkis stated on Friday that Whaley was already known to the police.
He also mentioned that this incident is believed to be a domestic situation. As of now, no arrests have been made, but the accused individual is familiar to law enforcement.
These homicides mark the second and third cases of the year in the city, all occurring within the past two weeks. Additionally, there was another unfortunate incident where a man was shot in the leg on April 10 and succumbed to his injuries several days later.
